The first time I heard about detoxification foot baths was from information regarding world famous Dr.  Klinghardt, who treated patients with chronic Lyme disease.  I’m not sure if he is still practicing in his eighties.  You may be able to still look up his foot soak protocol.

I have two ways that I personally like to soak my feet, and each method includes multiple health benefits.   One way is simply to wade barefoot in ocean water at the beach.  I typically do this for about twenty minutes.  If the water temperature is 55 degrees all the better, as that is cold thermogenesis (see Dr. Jack Kruse) which helps shrink mitochondria throughout the body which helps to lessen chronic pain.  Also, I know that I’m absorbing beneficial minerals from the salt water, in addition to removing toxins from my body.  And, I’m aware that I am grounding myself to the earth as well.  Even better is to do this at dawn when the sun is rising over the horizon when infrared light instead of ultraviolet light is available.

Another way to detox myself is to soak my feet in a dish pan, to which I add water at about 55 degrees and about a half cup of Epsom salts and a few drops tea tree oil.  I sit in a chair on my concrete patio with my feet in a metal dish pan so that I will be grounded to the earth.  I believe I receive the same health benefits from this protocol as from the beach one.  In addition, my feet soften very nicely and any indication of toenail fungus can benefit from the tea tree oil.

I know that Carol at Cedar Ridge Herb Farm sells a special detoxing foot bath, but I haven’t had a chance to inquire about it.  (see her info elsewhere on this site)
