I guess my instincts have been good all these years. While dermatologists and eye doctors have been warning people of the dangers of the sun, I was seeing positive things from the sun in my own health. Aside from boosting my mood, I seemed to require less insulin for my type 1 diabetes, and I had significantly lower levels of chronic nerve pain.
Recently while researching electromagnetic frequencies (EMFs) I was fortunate enough to come across an incredible neurosurgeon. Dr. Jack Kruse, a highly respected doctor for decades has deviated quite a bit from conventional medical mindsets. He has a website with a large following. He does numerous podcast interviews. He is one of the most brilliant scientific minds I’ve ever come across.
While some people might be turned off by Dr. Kruse’s overly confident attitude or his swearing, I am enthralled with his wealth of knowledge. He certainly gives other scientists their due. I like the fact that he is not telling half-truths to sell yet another new supplement. A lot of what he recommends for optimal health is free.
The first thing that Dr. Kruse recommends for his patients to do is for the rest of their lives to get up every day and watch the sun rise, while grounded like the sphinx. I’ve talked about grounding in other articles. We are electrical beings according to Robert Becker who wrote The Body Electric way back in 1985, way ahead of his time. When we take off our shoes and put our feet on some moist grass or sand it’s as if we are recharging our batteries. For people with electrical hypersensitivity grounding helps to discharge non-native EMFs. There are native EMFs in our environment from the sun and earth’s fields. Non-native EMFs are man-made and shown to have dangerous impacts on our overall health. Some experts suggest that electro-smog is as bad as smoking in regards to chronic health conditions.
If you watch any of Dr. Kruse’s podcasts you will notice that in some of them he is bathed in red light from using red lightbulbs. Also, he is often seen wearing blue blocking eyeglasses. I decided to change out my light bulbs from halogen and LED to incandescent, which I bought on the closeout rack at a local hardware store. Even though they have become obsolete, you can still buy them online. After a lot of searching I also bought a flashlight with an incandescent bulb, which I use nightly while going in and out of my sleep enclosure since I don’t have any electric items plugged near my bed.
For under ten dollars plus shipping I ordered a pair of blue blocking glasses, which I use while watching TV after sundown and before sunrise, and while driving to the beach in the morning to block out the blue part of headlights and streetlights. Since they are not reading glasses I decided to use an app on my computer to reduce the blue light. There are several to choose from. At some point I may buy a pair of blue blocking readers from my eye doctor’s optical shop for about $40.00. Be sure to read Dr. Kruse’s website to learn how strong the glasses need to be.
Dr. Kruse talks about how essential it is for anyone with a chronic health issue to live as close to the equator as possible. Also, to be out in the sun naked for five hours a day, which I think is virtually impossible for anyone who is working a regular job. He still performs surgeries during the day and says he goes outside for “sun breaks”. He stresses it is not good to apply sunscreens, nor wear sunglasses, which obviously goes against the grain of medical mainstream’s opinions. So, I made sure to drive around on errands with my car windows open. Each time I’d see others in their cars with their windows rolled up and sun glasses on I’d want to shout, no, open your eyes to the sun.
I’ve always been a sun worshipper, so to speak. I remember writing poetry about the sun, craving summer to hurry up and arrive. One time in a boyfriend’s jeep I remember being so antsy sitting in traffic on the way to the beach, it took every ounce of will not to jump out and walk the rest of the way. I’d always make a point to choose southern exposure when moving to a new apartment, even in hot Florida. I’d be outside all day doing gardening and yard work almost to the point of dehydration.
The time between five and ten a.m. is when the infra-red part of the spectrum is strongest and the UV part is lower, so that is the best time to be outside.
I remember reading a book by John Ott written in the seventies called Health and Light. Dr. Kruse mentions this book and I will go back to read it.
Dr. Kruse believes that blue light is the most detrimental of all forms of non-native EMFs. He says that being glued to cell phones’ addictive blue light all the time depletes our dopamine levels. I had noticed over the years that some millennials didn’t seem to have much emotional affect in their personalities, but instead appear to be monotone.
Dr. Kruse talks a lot about weight loss. He himself was able to lose over 100 pounds in under a year, not by eating less or exercising, but by eliminating blue light and increasing sunlight. He says that evolutionary-wise we are designed to gain weight as the days get shorter to gear up for winter.
