I met Carol a few years ago when I was traveling through South Carolina, and have been a customer very frequently ever since.  She has an herbal apothecary in Abbeville and her web address for ordering products is CedarRidgeFarmAbbeville.com

Carol and her husband own seven acres of rural property, which includes raised bed gardens, free running chickens, a cottage for her tiny apothecary built by a Mennonite, a screened-in structure for her classes on making tinctures and salves.  It is such a relaxing place to visit, sit in the yard and wander around the garden.  Her husband, Ed, keeps the property in pristine condition, without the use of chemical pesticides.

Carol is very well-versed regarding natural remedies for various ailments.  She told me that she was able to heal her own throat cancer.  She follows some of the research of Dr. William Makis, who treats turbo cancers with alternative products, such as ivermectin, fenbendazole, and Essiac tea, all of which you can buy from her.

For my gut issues Carol has recommended a particular brand of cabbage juice which she sells, but she is not greedy, and will let customers know they can also purchase it on amazon.  For acid reflux she recommends a particular food-grade limonene, which works to kill off candida in the upper digestive tract.  I love hearing her testimonials about how fast some remedy worked for another unnamed customer.

I buy Turmeric Curcumin from Me First Living from Carol that she says does not contain arsenic.  I had learned from my previous functional doctor that some turmeric supplements from India are high in arsenic.  I like her liquid liposomal Vitamin C from Vitablosom International, and I regularly buy her ionic liquid magnesium, as well as another type of magnesium for external use to spray on my feet or achy part of my body.

In person, I’ve purchased her eggs, and a refrigerated probiotic liquid made of ginger and turmeric.  She is a wealth of information, with many suggestions, but is also not afraid to admit when she does not know something for sure.  I have introduced at least three friends to her, while camping at nearby Parsons Mountain Lake Campground.  One friend was suffering horrible overall symptoms of parasites in his lower legs.  For twenty dollars he purchased an anti-parasitic herbal remedy, and charcoal.  After one treatment he felt well enough to drive all night to his home in Michigan.

Carol inspired me to make my own yogurt at home, she told me about the nearby farm that sells raw milk, and about her friend Keelan’s downtown store, The Black Apron, carrying culinary herbs, spices, olive oils, healthy ancient Redmond Real Salt, local honey, beeswax candles.  And balsamic vinegars, such as raspberry and blueberry, delicious enough to use instead of maple syrup on pancakes. Keelan won award Best New Business of 2026.  Both and Keelan will periodically offer classes to educate people about health and healthy eating.
